Cùng học chung lớp diễn viên ở Trường CĐ Sân khấu - Điện ảnh (khóa 1992-1995), ngay từ những ngày đầu nhập học, chẳng hiểu vì sao cả Lê Tứ lẫn Hà Như dẫu rất cố gắng vẫn không thể tự nhiên khi nói chuyện hoặc tập tiểu phẩm chung như tất cả những bạn học khác.
Tình cảm đầu tiên chỉ có vậy rồi thôi, “không tiến cũng chẳng lùi”, Lê Tứ nhớ lại. Có lẽ ông Tơ bà Nguyệt đã quyết chí se duyên cho chàng trai Lai Vung (Đồng Tháp) với cô gái Long Hồ (Vĩnh Long) nên đã tạo điều kiện cho cả hai có nhiều cơ hội được làm việc chung. Hạn hán và cơn mưa ở Pháp, cùng đồng hành vượt qua cả những khó khăn lẫn may mắn trong nghề nghiệp, cả hai mới thực sự hiểu về nhau để nhận ra người kia chính là một nửa còn lại của mình. Năm 2000, Lê Tứ - Hà Như chính thức trở thành người một nhà.
“Tôi yêu Hà Như bởi cảm nhận được những khác biệt của Như so với nhiều cô gái trẻ đeo đuổi ước mơ trở thành nghệ sĩ. Hiền lành, không chưng diện phấn son, quần áo, Như đến với nghệ thuật và làm nghề bằng sự khát khao, đam mê với sàn diễn mà không đặt quá nhiều tâm trí vào danh vọng”, Lê Tứ nói về vợ, giọng đong đầy yêu thương.
Một trong những điều giúp đôi vợ chồng nghệ sĩ trẻ ấy quyết tâm vun xới, chăm bón cho mái ấm có lẽ là cách nghĩ về những giá trị thiêng liêng của tình cảm gia đình mà cả hai được thừa hưởng từ gia đình lớn của mình. Là con trai kế út trong gia đình có tám anh em, nhà rất khó khăn, nhưng chính sự khó khăn ấy đã giúp anh em Lê Tứ thương yêu và đùm bọc nhau hơn. Hà Như là chị cả của bốn đứa em, từ bé Như cũng đã được cha mẹ dạy: “Tài sản quý nhất là tình cảm, là hạnh phúc gia đình”. Mang theo quan niệm về hạnh phúc gia đình đó ngay từ lúc khăn gói lên thành phố trọ học, cộng thêm trải nghiệm về những phức tạp trong đời sống nghệ sĩ, Lê Tứ đã xác định: phải có một gia đình yên ấm mới có thể phát triển được sự nghiệp của mình. Anh tâm sự: “Có lẽ tôi đã đúng, bởi may mắn thực sự đến với tôi nhiều hơn sau khi đã lập gia đình. Kết hôn năm 2000, năm 2001 tôi đoạt HCV giải triển vọng Trần Hữu Trang và có nhiều cơ hội để vừa làm nghề, khẳng định mình, vừa kiếm tiền để cải thiện đời sống”. Nói vậy nhưng không phải cuộc sống gia đình của Hà Như - Lê Tứ luôn sóng yên biển lặng. Cả hai thật thà thú nhận, điều khó nhất cả hai phải vượt qua trong thời gian đầu về chung sống là cách dung hòa cái tôi quá lớn của mỗi người, nhất là khi cả hai đều còn quá trẻ.
Cùng học một lớp, cùng được trang bị những kiến thức như nhau về nghề nghiệp, mỗi người lại có những sở trường, sở đoản riêng nên tranh cãi nhiều nhất sau ngày về cùng một mái nhà vẫn là chuyện nghề. Thêm nữa, ngày mới cưới, cuộc sống của hai vợ chồng trẻ còn quá nhiều khó khăn, nhà thuê chật chội, mỗi người tự bươn chải làm nghề và kiếm tiền khiến thời gian dành cho nhau không còn nhiều. Sau gần 5 năm yêu nhau và hơn hai năm chung sống, đã có lúc cả hai vợ chồng cảm nhận đời sống hôn nhân sao vô nghĩa, thiếu sự gắn bó và không giống như những gì cả hai đã hình dung từ hình ảnh của gia đình mình.
“Lo lắng của vợ chồng trẻ, nhất là những người làm nghệ thuật như chúng tôi là sợ có con sẽ vướng víu, bận bịu. Vẫn nghe người lớn nói con cái là món quà kỳ diệu mà cuộc sống ban tặng cho các đôi vợ chồng, nhưng chúng tôi chỉ thực sự hiểu hết ý nghĩa của món quà ấy khi đã được làm cha, làm mẹ” - niềm hạnh phúc lấp lánh trong ánh mắt, giọng nói của vợ chồng Lê Tứ - Hà Như khi kể về cậu bé Lê Hà Nhựt Đăng, nhiều lần là bạn diễn của ba mẹ từ khi mới lên ba.
Từ ngày có bé Nhựt Đăng, Hà Như tình nguyện lui về phía sau làm hậu phương vững chắc để Lê Tứ yên tâm theo đuổi ước mơ của mình. Hiền lành, ít nói, bà mẹ một con Hà Như vẫn giống cô sinh viên vừa ra trường hơn một nghệ sĩ của công chúng. Hỏi Như có bao giờ cảm thấy nuối tiếc khi đã bỏ lỡ không ít cơ hội để khẳng định mình, cô thật thà chia sẻ: “Đôi lúc tôi cũng buồn khi nhìn thấy bạn bè trang lứa lần lượt tìm được những vị trí riêng trong nghề nghiệp, nhưng cảm giác đó chỉ là thoáng qua. Tôi lùi một bước trong nghề, nhưng đổi lại tôi có nhiều thời gian chăm chút cho gia đình hơn. Nếu cả hai vợ chồng cùng lao theo nghề, cùng đeo đuổi những khát khao, ước vọng của riêng mình, có lẽ chúng tôi khó có thể giữ một gia đình. Tôi không có nhiều cơ hội diễn ở sân khấu nhưng khi Lê Tứ được mời làm phim truyện cải lương, cải lương truyền hình, đi hát sô… bao giờ lời mời cũng dành cho cả hai vợ chồng. Với tôi đó cũng là hạnh phúc”.
Tuy nhiên, thách thức lớn nhất từ sau ngày Hà Như lui vào hậu trường không phải nỗi nhớ sân khấu hay mặc cảm thua thiệt bạn bè mà là sự “đấu tranh” về tư tưởng để gạt bỏ cảm giác ghen tuông khi chồng ngày càng có nhiều khán giả hâm mộ. Nỗi buồn tủi, hờn ghen vu vơ của vợ đã khiến người đàn ông hiền lành mà nóng tính như Lê Tứ đổ quạu. Nhưng sau cơn giận, Lê Tứ lại thấy thương vợ nhiều hơn và cố gắng sắp xếp để dành thời gian cho vợ con. Anh bỏ thói quen la cà cùng bạn bè để chạy về nhà ngay sau khi vừa hết giờ lên lớp hoặc kết thúc sô diễn, buổi quay phim…
Thời gian đầu, khi tên tuổi Hà Như chưa được nhiều người biết đến, nếu có lời mời biểu diễn, Lê Tứ khéo léo sắp xếp để luôn có bà xã cùng xuất hiện. Lâu dần, những người tổ chức các chương trình biểu diễn hoặc ghi hình đều quen với việc mời cả hai vợ chồng cùng tham gia chương trình. “Tôi hiểu, dù Như chấp nhận lui về để làm tròn bổn phận làm vợ, làm mẹ nhưng lòng yêu nghề vẫn như ngọn lửa không bao giờ tắt. Để vợ tham gia cùng không chỉ là lời công khai với khán giả mối quan hệ giữa tôi và Như, giúp Như luôn có cảm giác an tâm đồng thời mang lại cho Như niềm vui vì vẫn được gắn bó với nghề, với lời ca, tiếng đàn”.
Từ chỗ ở nhà thuê, nay vợ chồng Lê Tứ - Hà Như đã mua được nhà, sắm xe hơi riêng để cả nhà luôn có mặt bên nhau trong những ngày lễ Tết hoặc phải đi diễn xa. “Gia đình hạnh phúc là điểm tựa an toàn để chúng tôi yên tâm làm việc và tạo dựng cho mình một sự nghiệp vững chắc, ổn định”. Với quan niệm đó, vợ chồng Lê Tứ - Hà Như càng trân trọng hơn những gì mình đang có và luôn tâm niệm phải giữ gìn hạnh phúc gia đình bằng mọi giá.
